Since I don’t really need any medication via IV and I’m feeling good, I got to go home for the a little while today. It was my first time being home since May, which seems strange to think about. Went for a walk in the ravine, hung out in the backyard and had a great steak dinner so I made the most of my day pass. Coming home really showed how much weaker I’ve gotten from fighting cancer. Even climbing stairs felt really different, so I’ll have to adjust to this new body when I get out for good.
White count at 1.7 today, up a little from yesterday which was 1.6. Hopefully it goes down a bit more at least in the coming days, my doctor said that they’re going to keep waiting a little while longer to see what happens. So I might not get my lumbar puncture just yet.
Still waiting on the bone marrow results from my brothers. They said it would take 2 weeks and now it’s been 3 so I’m getting anxious to hear back about whether or not either of them are a match. Hopefully we’ll know soon.
Still fighting,
Ethan Wissell
Thank you for the update, Ethan!
We heard that you earned a get-out-of-hospital card yesterday; good for you, albeit for a short duration. One-half day at a time in your marathon!
We are also looking forward to hearing news on whether Colin and | or Spencer are a match.
Sending you positive vibes and love from Sudbury!
